NBI counter terrorism head found dead in his office

The National Bureau of Investigation confirmed the death of NBI Counter-Terrorism Division Chief Raoul Manguerra in his office with a gunshot wound.

At exactly 11:39pm of December 7, 2020, the Manila Doctors Hospital declared Chief Manguerra dead-on-arrival.

NBI Director Eric Distor has ordered a thorough investigation into Chief Manguerra’s death including a lockdown on NBI office immediately after the incident.

The NBI main office lowered its flag into half-mast to honor the late Chief Manguerra.

NBI spokesperson Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said, “The NBI is in a deep state of mourning. We condole with the family, relatives and friends of Chief Manguerra.”
